DAYAN Project Group Held Its First General Consensus Meeting

On 20 June 2026, the DAYAN Project Analysis Team held its first general consensus meeting.

Within the scope of DAYAN, 38 in-depth interviews have been conducted to date. Paired working groups were formed for their analysis, and the interviews were examined by dividing them into three main variable clusters. This classification took shape as Moral Injury (MI) (+), MI (−), and earthquake survivor clusters. Each working-analysis group began analysing the interviews according to the Grounded Theory analysis steps. At this meeting, three separate paired analysis groups came together and shared their experiences in the analysis process of the in-depth interviews and their initial findings. The team exchanged views in depth on the challenges they encountered during the analysis process, the technical and theoretical stages of interpreting and understanding participant experiences, conceptual discussions, and how to interpret the findings they obtained.

An important outcome of the process was the progress the project team made in developing a shared language. The meeting and discussions held were seen to be of key importance for the ongoing analysis process and the subsequent stages of the project. The gathering was both instructive for the team and highly productive in terms of enabling deep reflection on the topics being worked on.
